Are You Ready For Windows 11?
September 1, 2021 | By Anthony
Microsoft just revealed their plans for the upcoming Windows 11 launch that includes OS redesigns, new features, and an increased focus on PC gaming.
At ORIGIN PC, Windows is key to our PC builds, as it’s the OS that we include on our desktops and laptops. Whether it’s a build dedicated to gaming and streaming, or a workstation system used for 3D modeling, Windows is critical to delivering a world-class PC experience.
Gamers should take note of the key features built into Windows 11 including DirectX 12 Ultimate, Auto HDR, and DirectStorage. With DirectX 12 Ultimate game developers can push hardware such as graphics cards to create vivid and immersive worlds with ray tracing and fast loading textures. Speaking of loading, DirectStorage can speed up load times and give games the capability to instantly load new assets using the power of an NVMe SSD and a powerful GPU. If you have an HDR monitor, you should take note of Auto HDR, a new feature that lets Windows apply an automatic HDR effect to over 1000 games for a wide range of colors and brightness.
The Xbox app is also built into Windows 11, giving you access to Microsoft franchises such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, Halo, Forza, and more. With Windows Game Pass for PC, you can get instant access to over 100+ PC games with a monthly subscription, perfect for a new PC gamer getting into the world of PC gaming.
If you’re eager to try out these new features and more, Windows 11 will be available on October 5th, 2021. On and after October 5th, all ORIGIN PC desktops and laptops will feature Windows 11. If you’re a previous ORIGIN PC customer, you might be able to upgrade to Windows 11 at no cost! Just use Microsoft’s PC Health Check app to see if your PC is eligible.
